Great Start!

We're off and running!  The first two weeks of school flew by and we are now beginning to tackle our academic targets.
We are working on understanding the base 10 number system and how it relates to decimals to the thousandth place.  Soon we'll be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing with decimals.
Our first writing unit is focused on crafting personal narratives, living life like authors and finding stories all around us.
Book clubs will begin in the next week or two. Students will work on developing agency in their reading and diving deeper into books, looking for the message/theme in their stories.


Some important dates:
Picture Day is Tuesday, September 24th.
Fun Run is Thursday, October 10th.  Fifth grade will run from 11:15-12:00.

Back to School!

Tuesday, September 3rd is the first day of school.  I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and starting off another great year at Scholls Heights!
